Most Women With Early Breast Cancer Do NOT Need Chemotherapy

The results of a large trial show that most women who are diagnosed with early stage breast cancer do not need to take chemotherapy. "The study found that for women with hormone receptor (HR)-positive, HER2-negative, axillary lymph node­–negative breast cancer, treatment with chemotherapy and hormone therapy after surgery is not more beneficial than treatment with hormone therapy alone."

The results of the study, called the Trial Assigning Individualized Options for Treatment (TAILORx ) trial is great news for the many thousands of women who fall in this category!
