Many men have questions about prostate cancer and prostate cancer screening. Now there is a way to get answers without embarrassment or fear of judgement.
The National Association of Chronic Disease Directors (NACDD), The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and Kognito have developed a virtual interactive simulation to help patients learn about prostate cancer and make important decisions about screening tests.
A virtual person named “Nathan” represents an individual with prior experience with prostate cancer. Men can either talk about whether or not they should be screened and/or discuss treatment options.
Nathan can also help healthcare providers learn to talk with patients while following a streamlined shared decision making framework and providing feedback on their performance.
